This week the children have continued enjoying their space role play area. We have read two stories this week ‘You can’t eat a princess’ and ‘Wilbur in Space’. The children enjoyed these two stories and it has given them some inspiration for their role play. They have loved counting down from 10 and shouting “blast off” and this is now a new addition to the rocket. We have also been learning about the planets and the children have painted their favourite planet! They look wonderful on our display.
In RE, we learnt about the story of Pentecost and shared our thoughts on the story. We continued to share our good news and add to our good News board. The children have coloured and cut out their own thumbs up!
For maths we have been learning about comparing quantities using the terms ‘more’, ‘less’ or the ‘same’. Many of the children have been trying this out during CIL with lots of different resources in the environment. In phonics we are pressing the sound buttons this week and sounding out our letters and blending the sounds together. Some of the children even took them outside to try and practise writing these letters using chalk.
On Thursday we enjoyed running a mile to celebrate the 10th Birthday of run a mile. There were very happy faces during it followed by lots of tired children afterwards.
We hope you all have a lovely long weekend and we look forward to seeing you all again on Tuesday!
