Well done to all of the children who have entered the Easter Art Competition! The Chaplaincy Team have been hard at work this week choosing the winning pieces. We have been blown away by the artistic talents in our school and had to make some very difficult decisions. Below, we have our list of winners and some of our reasons for choosing them.
Stefan S :
You have really thought about the main idea of your art piece which is Jesus falls for the third time. We like how you painted a sunset in the background to create the effect of Jesus’ crucifixion. The painting and detail of the art piece is outstanding. Well Done Stefan!
Jack M :
You have really taken time to create this wonderful piece of artwork! The different shapes you used to draw Jesus are magnificent. You have thought carefully about the topic of your piece. Well Done Jack!
Zoe C :
You have really thought about the topic of your piece! You added every detail and your coloring is outstanding. Well Done Zoe!
Flora:
Your piece of artwork is amazing. This is so hard to draw but you nailed it. You used lots of detail which created the effect of Jesus falling! Well Done!
Annie W:
We chose Annie’s work because we thought that it was very creative and really showcased how much time and effort she took. Annie’s materials were very unique and we could clearly understand the theme. An excellent piece of art. Well done!
Orlaith M:
We can see that you took a lot of time placing each bead on the picture. In our opinion, the work was beautiful and you really understood the task well. Overall very well thought out. Well done!
Jack B:
We chose this piece because we loved how all of the colours popped off the page. You did a great job of showing how those watching felt. Well done!
Daniel K:
We loved how you contrasted Veronica with the rest of the on-lookers and how happy she appears to be in helping Jesus at this difficult time. Well done!
Cole W:
We chose this exceptional piece because it expressed the grim and dark scene of when Jesus was laid in the tomb. Cole used a range of shading and sketching techniques which made his piece feel real! Once this piece of art is put up, the Chaplaincy team and I are sure many will be inspired! Well done!
Annabelle:
When judging this piece the Chaplaincy Team knew Annabelle put loads of hard work into this artwork! We are happy and full of pride that we are able to put this piece up on display! Congrats!
Liliana:
Well done for showing 3-D design in your art. It was very hard to decide who would win but Liliana’s shot out above the rest! Thank you for entering this piece and continue making art since this entry was magnificent!
Shauna:
We chose this piece of art because it shows how Jesus met the women of Jerusalem while carrying His cross. The artwork shows the emotions of Jesus and the women; we could see how Jesus felt sad seeing the weeping ladies as He carried His cross. Well done!
Emilia :
We picked this artwork because it depicts how the women were by Jesus’ side when He was suffering. This is a well thought piece of art that is very detailed. Well done!
Daniel S:
This art symbolises how Jesus takes up the cross. The artwork is very detailed and we can see that the ray of light links with God.
Zachary B:
This piece of work shows how hard it was for Jesus carrying the cross. It is very abstract, using sand for the ground, tissue paper for the sky and wood for the cross. Well done!
Antonia L:
We chose this because of how it depicted feeling. For example, it shows Pontius Pilate not wanting to kill Jesus. Well done Antonia!
Saoirse:
We chose this because is shows Pontius Pilate looking down to Jesus. It also shows the crowds wanting him to be crucified. Well done Saoirse!
Enid:
We chose Enid’s work because her artwork was incredibly well drawn and conveyed how painful this moment was for Jesus
Florence:
We loved Florence’s work because she showed Jesus hanging down so He was firmly nailed to the cross. We were amazed by the colours in the background and how well blended they were. This was a great contrast the the silhouette of Jesus and His cross. A stunning piece of artwork!
Amelia S:
We chose this piece because her artwork popped out to us and it had a detailed landscape to finish off the piece. We can tell she really put a lot of effort into this. Some really exquisite work!
Sophia:
We liked Sophia’s artwork because she used a lot of creativity with many different colours. She used a beautiful pop up display to bring her art to life.
Bea C:
You did a great job of showing how Jesus felt and how there was nobody there to help him when he fell.
Zoey:
We felt that you did a great job of showing Jesus’s anguish at falling again. Well done!
Although we could only choose 2 entries from each class, we wanted to reiterate a huge well done to everyone else that entered and we have chosen some of our favourites below.
