Today was a truly inspiring day as we took part in the World Day of Prayer assembly and engaging activities. This year, the Cook Islands are the hosts, and we learned about the significance of prayer and its role in fostering hope and unity. Our assembly set a beautiful tone, reminding us of the power of collective prayer.
One of the highlights was participating in a Visio Divina session, where we meditated on the artwork depicting Jesus praying on the mount. It was a calming experience that encouraged us to reflect deeply on the themes of our gathering.
Our activities revolved around the theme of hope, in line with our Jubilee Year – Pilgrims of Hope. Students composed heartfelt prayers for Pope Francis, wishing for his swift recovery. They also crafted prayers of hope on leaves, which will eventually adorn our vibrant Hope Tree. We created a hope chain, connecting our thoughts and aspirations, and documented messages of hope that truly encapsulated our collective spirit.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the concept of prayer creatively, igniting a sense of community and positivity that resonated throughout the day. It was a perfect reminder of the importance of hope in our lives!
