Over the past week, we have been learning about and celebrating Pentecost, one of the most important feast-days of the Church’s year. Key Stage 2 pupils took part in a ‘Pentecost Party’ assembly on Friday, when they reflected on the ways in which the Holy Spirit fills us with God’s energy and power. They also played a special game of Pass the Pentecost Parcel, let off party poppers and had a celebration playtime. This is because Pentecost is the birthday of the Church. It is the day when St Peter, inspired by the Holy Spirit, first preached to a huge crowd of people.
We have also watched Mark 10 Mission Celebrations of the Word in class. Today, Mrs Smith shared Pentecost Sunday’s Gospel reading with us and we watched the story of Pentecost.
