What an exciting week we’ve had in Year 5! From dressing up as our favorite book characters on World book day to dressing up as Vikings on the next.
On Wednesday, we had a very exciting visitor come into school called Olaf Falafel. He is best known for writing the children books ‘The Blob Fish’ and ‘Trixie Pickle – Art Avenger’. All the children thoroughly enjoyed his very entertaining assembly about how to draw a bum faced snail (yes you read that correctly!) as well as his rap about World Book Day. Year 5 then had the wonderful opportunity to have a workshop with Mr Falafel where he taught us how to draw a 4-panelled comic strip, which all the children loved.
WORLD BOOK DAY!
Both teachers were very impressed with all the children’s fabulous World Book Day costumes. From Oompa Loopas to Harry Potter characters; we would like to thank the parents for putting in the effort for making these great costumes.
Viking Day
For Viking Day, Year 5 had a busy day full of different workshops based on Viking activities, from weaving or making candles, to working in groups digging up artefacts. We had great fun and learnt lots of interesting facts. Thank you to all the parents who helped out on the day!
Hope you have a lovely weekend! 😊🌞
