This week in Year 6 we got back into the routine of school again, after our wonderful week – both at home and away.
In Music, we continued to explore
We have been writing our own chase scenes, inspired by our class book – “Cogheart” by Peter Bunzl. We have been very impressed by the careful vocabulary choices the children have made in creating a fast paced and tense narrative.
In RE we have been exploring the theme of “Unconditional Love” and we revisited the parable of the Prodigal Son. We conducted a trial of the older son and thought about how he could have shown unconditional love for his brother and how hard it is to feel love sometimes. We remember how Jesus always loves and we try to follow in his footsteps. We visited the church, together with the rest of Key Stage 2 for the Welcome Mass led wonderfully by Y4 and we were very proud at how well the Year 6 children behaved. They are truly living up to the role of being models to the rest of the school.
All in all, a wonderful week back in school; back all together again.
