This week the children have been evaluating their hard work on their roundhouses. They worked hard to make a variety of round houses, with a range of different materials. Here you can see some of the finished products. They thought about the challenges they faced and what they would do differently next time. We extended our history learning by looking at flint tools, thinking about their shape gives us clues to their uses.
In Maths, we have been having lots of fun revisiting our topic of measure from Year 2. We got busy with measuring tapes and weighing scales, comparing and recording as we went. We all had great fun and have revised our units of measure beautifully.
It was Poetry Week (more of which in the newsletter) and we used Kate Wakeling’s visit as inspiration as we started our new unit on reading and writing free verse poetry. Thank you to everyone – children and grown ups – for allowing all the children to bring in their “special objects”. We have been reading The Magic Box by Kit Wright, and some of us performed it to the rest of the class.
