This week, Year 2 students embarked on two exciting trips.
First, we walked to St. Alban and St. Stephen Church where we met with Father Michael. He kindly guided us through the church, explaining all its fascinating features. The students were captivated by the architecture and the details in the church.
Our historical adventures continued as we walked along the Alban Way. This walk allowed us to step back in time and imagine what life was like for Frederick Sanders, famously known as ‘The Orchid King.’ We have been learning about Sanders in our history lessons, focusing on his passion for orchids and how he transported them along the Alban Way. During our walk, we visualised his nurseries on the upper site and marvelled at the three brother trees.
Additionally, this week we had a brilliant sports day that included all of Key Stage 1. The Year 2 students showcased excellent sportsmanship, cheering each other on enthusiastically in each activity. It was a day filled with fun, teamwork, and a wonderful sense of community spirit.
Well done, Year 2, for an incredible week of learning, exploring, and sporting achievements!
