This week we created 3D shapes such as cubes and pyramids from nets. This activity combined skills in maths, design technology, art and history in one task because not only did we have to construct the 3D shapes correctly we also had to decorate them with Ancient Egyptian symbols including the ankh the and eyes of Horus and Ra. We learnt a little about what the symbols stood for and added the cubes and pyramids to our ‘Ancient Egypt learning wall ‘. Making shapes from nets can be quite tricky but the children did a superb job!
