In our art lessons, we have been studying the work of artist Nicole Dyer. One of her most well-known works is called ‘My Pantry’, which depicts her food larder. We used this painting as inspiration to create 3D models of food from scrap paper and Modroc. First, we studied her painting in depth, then we designed our food items in our sketch books before creating an inner mould from scrap paper. This week we have covered our moulds with Modroc which creates a hard, but smooth our surface which can be painted to look like food next week.
