This week in Year 6 we finished our work on the Kingdom of Benin. We considered the future of artefacts that were taken by the Victorians and explored how and why the empire fell apart. We also finished our masks inspired by the work of artists from the time.
We have also continued our learning about electricity by exploring electrical resistance. The children designed and carried out an experiment to test whether changing the length of resistance wire would have an effect on the brightness of their bulb.
Year 6 would like to thank Mr Wallace for ensuring they had a chance to take part in the Rudolph Run this week. The children had a great time on Monday afternoon completing their different activities.
Elsewhere this week, in English we have been writing our own ghost stories inspired by A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, in Maths we have been exploring the area of rectilinear and triangular shapes, and in RE we have been exploring how John the Baptist prepared people for Jesus’ arrival and what are expectation should be for Jesus’ return.
